Charge Up Detroit Mobility Hub is a core part of Southwest Detroit Chargeway and a premier resident-led initiative creating a community garden network to reduce the impacts of traffic violence, environmental harm, and industrial pressures in Southwest Detroit. Funds will support the first site, including the Charge Up Detroit Community Garden, off-grid solar canopy, bike library, naturescape, potable water access, security lighting, and ongoing programming. Charge Up Detroit was developed by a core group of 20 residents and a 9-person youth steering committee. It is walking distance from nearby homes and accessible through alleys and backyards, away from busy traffic.

Starting May 1st 2026, we encourage our supporter and organizations committed to community building, mobility, sustainability to donate to dollar for dollar match from The Michigan Economic Development Corporation. The dollar for dollar match will last until June 29th.
